Club Royale Casino
Comp Program
Your guide to Royal Caribbean's casino comp program
(Celebrity's Blue Chip Club is similar with some key differences)
Understanding Casino Comps
Marketing Operation
Club Royale gives complimentary cabins to encourage gambling. You must be present to use your comp.
Personal Offers
Comps are based on your gambling history and are not transferable to friends or family members.
Payment Structure
Casino pays cruise fare. You pay taxes and fees (generally $100-$200 per person), and any upgrade charges at booking.

Even with full comps, you always pay taxes and fees for all passengers in your cabin. You don't pay me anything as a travel agent for booking your casino comp!
Why Book Comps With a Travel Agent?
Knowledge of Royal's ships and cruises
I can help you pick the ship, cabin, and itinerary that's best for you! I've traveled on most of the ships in Royal's fleet and on itineraries from Alaska to Europe and most points in between.
Expertise in the casino comp program
I've been booking casino comps for two years and know the ins and outs of the system. It's complicated, but you don't have to learn it — that's what I'm here for.
Ease of booking
Let me handle the hassle for you! I'll book your comp and send you a confirmation, as well as make any necessary changes.
Take advantage of upgrade opportunities
As an agent, I see more pricing details and can sometimes find upgrades at low or no cost to you . I can also alert you to low-cost upgrade opportunities.

As a travel agent, I'm paid a commission by Royal Caribbean for each booking. You don't pay me anything!

Instant Certificates
How They Work
Earned based on points from your current cruise only. Certificates specify eligible sailings, cabin types, and whether comp covers 1 or 2 guests. Lists of eligible sailings change monthly and differ for short cruises (5 nights or less), cruises 6 nights or more, and cruises in Europe.
Important Details
  • Become active for booking on the day you leave the ship.
  • Must redeem within 30 days after you leave the ship.
  • Make Next Cruise deposit for onboard credit bonus. This can be done via app if you've booked with me or directly with Royal.

Certificate month is determined by cruise end date, not start date. Limited capacity available per sailing.
Marketing Offers
Comps Based on Play
Casino sends offers via email or mail. Recipients for offers are chosen using algorithms combining data on past gambling on Royal (play type, gambling level) and other factors such as future bookings.
Single vs Double
Starting 2024, some offers are for 1 guest only. If not clearly stated as "cruise fare for one guest," it's a comp for 2. Solo travelers with a cruise fare for 1 offer must pay for second guest at discounted rate.
Regular vs. guarantee
Many Royal offers now give you a guarantee cabin, meaning that the cruise line will choose your cabin location. It's possible to upgrade to a category where you can pick your cabin location, and those costs will vary by sailing.
Guarantee cabins are priced differently than regular cabins in that category, so please note if you have a guarantee offer when you fill out the booking request form.
Upgrades & Additional Passengers
Cabin Upgrades
You can pay to upgrade from your comp cabin category to a higher category. Upgrade fee is the difference between the value of your comp fare and the cruise fare for the desired cabin. (Casino comp bookings are eligible for RoyalUp, the cruise line's program for bidding on stateroom upgrades.)
Extra Guests
You can add additional passengers beyond the 1-2 covered by your comp. Much like an upgrade, you'll pay the difference in cruise fare, along with taxes and fees for each passenger in the cabin.
All upgrade fees and additional passenger costs are due at time of booking or when making changes.
Combining Certificates — Comps for 2
Two players who have comp offers for 2 guests can combine for one-category upgrades (up to junior suite maximum) as long as the offers have matching certificate prefixes.
Prime + Prime = Oceanview
Prime + Signature = Junior Suite
Signature + Signature = Junior Suite

Masters tier cruises cannot be combined with other tier cruises for upgrades.
Guarantee cabins combine in a similar manner, e.g., an oceanview guarantee combined with an interior guarantee gives you a balcony guarantee. If one of the offers you're combining is a guarantee, the resulting cabin will be a guarantee as well.
Combining Certificates — Comps for 1
Two players who have comp offers for 1 guest can combine for a full comp for 2 guests at the level of the lowest offer.
Guarantee cabins combine in a similar manner, e.g., an oceanview guarantee for 1 combined with an interior guarantee for 1 gives you an interior guarantee for 2. If one of the offers you're combining is a guarantee, the resulting cabin will be a guarantee as well.
Cancellation Policies
Standard Cancellations
Port taxes and fees are refunded when canceling comp cruises. Upgrade costs may or may not be refunded - policy implementation varies and usually depends on how close you are to your sail date.
Late Cancellation Penalty
Cancel within 72 hours or no-show? You'll pay a $200 deposit for future bookings for one year. The $200 penalty appears on your onboard account. Offers end in "X" during penalty period.
